ed’s grandmother gave him a Kodak Brownie Box camera for his 10th birthday, and he’s been taking pictures ever since. His scientific and adventurous spirit for all things natural converges in the inspiring and singular images that he captures. Ted Ringger has a consistent calling to articulate on film what inspires him in life.
“I graduated from The City College of New York with a degree in biology and escaped from the big city. Photography proved to be a great creative outlet. Natural places represent beauty, order, and adaptation, and are vivid contrasts to the stark, angular images of my youth in New York City.” As often as possible, Ted explores earth’s far flung wonders, from the mountainous Cinque Terre region in Italy, to the white-washed, blue-domed churches of Santorini.
Closer to home, the diversity of the American landscape presents wonderful opportunities to capture the beauty of waterfronts, mountains and forests. From the rugged coast of Maine to the Cascade Mountains of the Pacific Northwest, there are images to preserve and share.
Seeing the world through the camera lens has helped Ted Ringger slow down and work to document the essence of places more acutely. Whether shooting a natural wonder or the spires and buttresses of some of the world’s renowned cathedrals, all are sacred spaces to inspire the spirit. The camera allows Ted to focus his creative vision and to share that vision with family, friends, and clients.
